Acoustic Guitar Sessions Presents Sugarcane Jane
Sugarcane Jane is Anthony and Savana Lee Crawford—a musical married couple from Alabama’s Gulf Coast. Between them, they have decades of rich musical experience: Anthony’s an in-demand multi-instrumentalist and producer who has worked with such notables as Neil Young, Steve Winwood, Dwight Yoakam, Vince Gill, Rosanne Cash, and Rodney Crowell, and has written or co-written songs recorded by Kenny Rogers, Steve Winwood, Pegi Young, Lee Greenwood, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and others. Savana has been making music for years, too, and was a Nashville studio owner. The music they make together is simple and direct, rooted in country and rock, and anchored by their sweet and soulful harmonies.

When the duo stopped by Acoustic Guitar for this AG Sessions during a recent trip to California promoting Sugarcane Jane’s new album Dirt Road’s End (co-produced with songwriter Buzz Cason), they demonstrated their easy chemistry and magical vocal blend on three songs: “San Andreas Fault Line” (from the album), “My New Guitar,” and “Never Do You Know.” These are nice, unpretentious folks, and it shows in their music.
