Takamine Debuts New ‘Thermal Series’ Guitars at Winter NAMM 2016
At Winter NAMM 2016, Takamine released its new line of guitars with “thermal” tops, which is a torrefaction, or heat-treated, process.
Tom Watters, of Takamine and ESP Guitars shows us a few highlights from the new Thermal line, plus the company’s special limited edition guitar for 2016.

CP7MO-TT, an OM-shaped guitar with an ovangkol body and a torrefied spruce top.
The TF740-FS from the Legacy series. This 12-fret, slotted headstock model now features a torrefied spruce top in place of the cedar it used to sport.
The blackburst EF450C-TT TBB with a torrefied top, maple back, and intense inlays on the fingerboard and pickguard.
And, one guitar without a thermal top, the limited edition Decoy. This guitar will only be made in 2016 and it’s special features include a fish inlay on the fingerboard, an arched body, and a blue finish.
