Fronted by identical twins Katelyn and Laurie Shook, Portland, Oregon’s, Shook Twins play their song “Thoughts All In,” from their latest album, What We Do, and discuss how they got their start in music.

On tour to promote their latest album, What We Do, Shook Twins stopped by Acoustic Guitar’s offices to play a song and talk about what got them started playing music.

Raised in Sandpoint, Idaho, Katelyn and Laurie, grew up in a musical household, but only really picked up the guitar after Katelyn’s teenage boyfriend gave her a Fender acoustic. It wasn’t long after that the sisters began writing their own songs. After relocating to Portland, Oregon, and forming Shook Twins, they began getting noticed, and were soon sharing stages with the likes of Sarah Jarosz, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Crooked Still, and Ryan Adams.
