Hey, fellow guitarist! AcousticGuitar.com is here to support you with fantastic articles (like this one.) If you like what we do, please give $1 (or whatever you can afford) in support of our work.

In honor of Lou Reed’s birthday (March 2), we’re delighted to share our Acoustic Guitar Sessions with Joseph Arthur. Last year, Arthur put out a strong collection of Lou Reed covers that was met with much acclaim, and rightly so, since he truly captures the spirit of the late iconoclast. Arthur delivers stirring covers of a pair of tunes from the album, “Coney Island Baby” and “Sword of Damocles,” in addition to a couple of top-notch originals. (He is accompanied by singer Reni Lane on a few of these songs.)

We also chat with Arthur about a range of topics, including his tenure working at a guitar store and his first real live performance, which had Mr. Reed in attendance. Be sure to check out his Godin Acousticaster, too, an electro-acoustic hybrid guitar with a chambered body.
