Boston’s Della Mae was formed in 2009, when fiddle champion Kimber Ludiker was determined to start an all-female bluegrass band. Today, Della Mae is an internationally renowned act and a favorite on the festival circuit. Though each member of Della Mae can flat-out play, they are equally as concerned with song structure, melody, and vocal prowess. The result is a winning synthesis of heartfelt songwriting, wonderful harmonies, and top-notch musicianship that puts a contemporary spin on traditional bluegrass music.

Hear Della Mae perform a couple of their most popular songs and discuss a range of topics from their State Department-sponsored world travels to their deep connection with Bourgeois guitars.
