Epiphone’s first collection of Masterbilt archtops came about during the 1930s, and — per the company’s website — “were renowned for their warm woody tone, wide tonal range, and punchy volume.”

The Masterbilt line, which hits stores in August, is inspired by Epiphone’s historic guitars, and is designed to deliver a dynamic acoustic tone when amplified on stage.
