Singer, songwriter, and visual artist Sonia Rutstein has been recording and performing her politically charged songs both solo as SONiA and as part of Disappear Fear since DP’s debut album, Echo My Call, in 1988. Rutstein and Disappear Fear have since garnered numerous awards including the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Media Award for DF’s self-titled album of 1994. In 2002, the Santa Cruz Guitar Company honored Rutstein with the signature “SONiA” H model.

Rutstein stopped by the Acoustic Guitar booth at Winter NAMM 2016 with her Santa Cruz SONiA and a Shubb capo to perform “The Banker,” a song from her latest Disappear Fear album Broken Film.
