Former Wings Guitarist Henry McCullough Dies at 73: Watch Him Perform ‘Belfast to Boston’

Henry McCullough, the guitarist for Paul McCartney and Wings whose notable work includes the gorgeous solo on the band’s 1972 No. 1 hit, “My Love,” died today after a long illness, according to Billboard. McCullough was 73.

“He was a pleasure to work with, a super-talented musician with a lovely sense of humour,” McCartney wrote in a blog post earlier today. “The solo he played on ‘My Love’ was a classic that he made up on the spot in front of a live orchestra. Our deepest sympathies from my family to his.”
