A couple of weeks ago in this space we saluted the great John Prine on his induction into the prestigious Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. Well, at that same ceremony in New York, Cat Stevens/Yusuf was similarly (and deservedly) honored, so please enjoy this vintage clip of him playing his song “Tuesday’s Dead,” which originally appeared on Cat’s smashingly successful Teaser & the Firecat album (released in the fall of 1971). That album contained the hits “Moonshadow,” “Peace Train” and “Morning Has Broken”; “Tuesday’s Dead” was a popular FM radio and concert tune. — Blair Jackson
