OK, it’s going to take out a little wind power to blow out 70 candles, but we’re pretty sure the great Richard Thompson has it in him, as he celebrates this milestone birthday! To honor the amazing RT, here’s a solo acoustic version of  his simmering, powerful “I Misunderstood,” which originally appeared on his excellent Rumour and Sigh album back in 1991 (an later on the 2014 Acoustic Classics release). He’s playing a Lowden acoustic in the video.

Incidentally, Thompson’s most recent album, 13 Rivers, is also definitely worth a listen. It’s seriously compelling, as you’d expect! —Blair Jackson
