Epiphone’s first collection of Masterbilt archtops came about during the 1930s, and — per the company’s website — “were renowned for their warm woody tone, wide tonal range, and punchy volume.”

Watch above as Epiphone President Jim Rosenberg gives a tour of the company’s headquarters in Nashville, and introduces its new line of acoustic-electric archtop guitars, the Masterbuilt Century Collection.

The Masterbilt line, which hits stores in August, is inspired by Epiphone’s historic guitars, and is designed to deliver a dynamic acoustic tone when amplified on stage.
