Mandolin picker Rory Hoffman demonstrated Saga Musical Instruments’ new Kentucky Master KM 505 A-Model mandolin with some hot licks at the NAMM Show in Nashville last week.

“It’s our artist series mandolin and it’s designed to have artist-level features but still be affordable,” Saga spokesman David Gartland said, pointing out the instrument’s maple back and European Alpine Spruce top, “which is very favorable for violin-making, and has been historically, for its tonal properties.”
