WHAT'S HAPPENING 2007 La Guitarra California Festival Twenty-three classical guitarists will compete in 14 events at the 2007 La Guitarra California Festival (http://www.laguitarracalifornia.com), which is being held September 21–23 at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California. Artists such as Ana Vidovic and Pepe Romero will perform and conduct master classes for attendees. Montreal Guitar Grand Prix Open to all guitarists of all ages, the Montreal Guitar Grand Prix (http//:www.montrealguitargrandprix.com) will be held September 29-30 at the Savoy du Metropolis in Montreal. Sponsored by Godin Guitars and created by the Montreal Musician and Musical Instrument Show, the Grand Prix allows contestants to compete in as many as two categories (classical, acoustic fingerstyle and picking, jazz, and blues/rock).
