Ferron's Equipment Picks
What She Plays.

By Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers

Acoustic Guitars: Early ’90s Schoenberg Soloist (www.om28.com), with her signature inlaid at the 12th fret. How much does Ferron love her one and only guitar? A few years ago at a gig, she slipped and fell on cinderblock stairs. “I was holding my Schoenberg guitar, and I put it up into the air as if I was falling into the ocean. I sprained both ankles, rammed my knees, and had to be taken away in a stretcher. But I’m glad to say, the guitar was fine. So I’ve got my priorities straight.”

Strings: Schoenberg light-minus (.011–.052).

Pickup: Fishman Acoustic Matrix.
