Acoustic Guitar and Martin Guitar Company present a chance to win a Special Edition D-28 Elvis Presley commemorative guitar valued at $6,999.
Elvis’ guitar playing served him well, and his pulsing, rhythmic strumming was fueled by Martin guitars—from a used 000-18 in the mid-50’s, to a D-28 at the end of his career. The last guitar Elvis played on stage in June of 1977 was a mid-1970s D-28. That instrument was packed and ready to go back on the road with Elvis when he died on August 16, 1977; it now resides in the collection at Graceland.
In tribute to Elvis Presley on the 30th anniversary of his passing also, coincidentally, the 175th anniversary of the Martin Guitar Company, Martin designed this Special Edition D-28 Commemorative Elvis Presley guitar.
This guitar features back and sides of East Indian rosewood and a top of Carpathian spruce. The combination of these fine tonewoods produces a responsive instrument with impressive volume, punch, and sustain. The Style 28 rosette is matched by Style 28 purfling around the top and back. The body is bound in grained ivoroid.
If you are selected to win this Special Edition D-28 Elvis Presley guitar from C.F. Martin & Co, you’ll also get 24 sets of Medium Light Phosphor Bronze Martin FX Strings (retail price $258). That’s a total retail value of $7,257!
